Why we’re building CardivaRx
Cardiovascular disease remains the UK’s biggest preventable killer, and high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and raised cholesterol sit at the heart of it. Yet the NHS pathway for these conditions — once-a-year reviews, ten-minute appointments, different clinicians at every visit is buckling under demand. Patients tell us the same thing repeatedly: they know their numbers are creeping up, they want to act, and they can’t get a timely review. Private healthcare in the UK has historically meant £300+ cardiology consultations at private hospitals — fast, but expensive and fragmented. CardivaRx is the third option: pharmacist-led, online-first, NICE-aligned private cardio-metabolic prescribing at a price point that sits between NHS waiting lists and Harley Street.
What we’ll offer at launch
CardivaRx is a UK private prescribing service focused exclusively on cardio-metabolic health. At launch, we will provide diagnosis and ongoing treatment for:
- Hypertension (high blood pressure
- Type 2 diabetes
- Dyslipidaemia (Raised cholesterol)
The service is built around online consultations with a GPhC-registered pharmacist, an Independent Prescriber, structured diagnostic confirmation using ambulatory or home blood pressure monitoring, baseline blood work, and continuity of prescriber at every review. Medication is dispensed and delivered by a partner UK pharmacy. Additional services — including weight management, hormone replacement therapy and men’s cardiometabolic health — will be added in later phases as clinical scope and governance expand.
Our principles
Specialist focus, not generalist
We treat three conditions deeply, rather than dozens superficially. Cardio-metabolic risk is one biological story — high blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol travel together. Treating them in isolation, the way most pathways do, misses the bigger picture.
NICE NG136 and beyond
Every clinical decision at CardivaRx is anchored in current UK guidance NICE NG136 for hypertension, NG28 for type 2 diabetes, and CG181 for cardiovascular risk and cholesterol, alongside relevant ESC and BIHS position statements. We don’t deviate from evidence to chase a market.
Continuity of care
You see the same prescriber every visit. For chronic conditions, where small medication adjustments compound over years, continuity is the single biggest predictor of good outcomes. It’s also the thing patients say they miss most about modern primary care.

Transparent annual pricing, no hidden consultation fees, no upselling. If a generic medication is the right choice, that’s what you’ll be offered
Where we are right now
CardivaRx is in pre-launch.
Our founder is a GPhC-registered pharmacist completing the Independent Prescribing qualification through an accredited UK university, with a Designated Prescribing Practitioner secured and the application in progress. The qualification is on track for completion in 2026, with launch to follow once Independent Prescribing is annotated on the GPhC register and our regulatory infrastructure, including CQC registration as an independent healthcare provider, is in place.
We’re publishing this transparently because we believe people choosing a private prescriber deserve to know who they’re trusting with their health, and at what stage of development the service is. No prescribing services are currently being offered.
In the meantime, we’re building publicly: writing evidence-based guides on the conditions we’ll treat, documenting our clinical governance approach, and growing a community of patients who want to be first in line when we open.
